A summer camp to remember

We're parents too - so we get it. We all need a little break and there's no better way to get the kids off their phones and out of the house this summer! Camp Canopy is the best place to challenge the status quo and we're all about improving social skills, encouraging fitness and fostering inclusiveness.

We focus on experiential learning here at Canopy and will never force a child to do something they do not want to do.

Our summer camps max out at a 8:1 participant to instructor ratio. This allows us to provide the right amount of attention and challenge for your camper. Space is limited and filling up quickly!

Richmond's newest, most desireable summer camp for 2023!

Frequently asked questions

  • CONTACT/Attendance

If your child cannot attend camp on a given morning, please call us before drop off at 804.476.4919. Leave a message if no one answers! In case of emergency or any other concerns or if you need to contact the camp director, please contact us at 804.476.4919.

  • What should my child wear?

First and foremost, dress for the weather! We will be outdoors the entire day. You will also want to wear something that is comfortable and likely to get dirty. Closed toe and heel athletic shoes or boots are required. No exceptions.

  • Are there any fitness requirements to attend summer camp?

Campers of average physical fitness and health will be able to complete a majority of our courses. Our ground-based activities are accessible to all.

  • How is lunch handled?

For the safety of all campers, we operate on a BYOL (bring your own lunch) policy - please ensure it is non-perishable as we will store it in a cool, shaded spot. Healthy snacks (not a substitute for lunch) and drinking water is provided daily. We highly encourage bringing a reuseable water bottle each day!

  • Do you provide lockers?

We do not provide lockers and suggest leaving valuables at home. Our camp staff are able to hold on to cell phones and other small items.

Policies and procedures

  • What is your weather policy?

We will hold camp rain or shine! Only the most severe weather (high winds and lightning) will require us to seek shelter indoors. We will provide indoor activies as deemed possible. We are unable to provide refunds due to inclement weather.

  • Is the Adventure Park certified?

Canopy Adventure Park was built and operates in accordance with the standards of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). We are proud to adhere to these stringent safety standards!

  • Are the activities at camp safe?

All campers are fitted in safety harnesses and climbing gear that meets and/or exceeds the highest standards in the industry. For added safety and unlike other ropes courses, we use a smart belay system that makes it impossible (under normal use) to become unclipped at any point on our course. In addition, all campers will receive a daily safety briefing.

  • Are cell phones allowed?

We highly encourage all campers to participate daily and only use their phones for emergencies and pickup. However, we will not restrict campers from their cell phones unless explicity told to by a parent!

Payment

  • How do I reserve my child's spot at camp?

We require payment to be made in full to reserve your child's place at camp. Full refunds are available up until 4 weeks before the start of camp. A $200 fee is kept for any camp cancellations within 4 weeks of camp start - no exceptions can be made to this policy.

HOW-TO: Click "book now" to access our booking page. Click "Summer Camps" and select the starting Monday of the session you'd like to reserve.

  • How much is camp and are there any additional fees?

Our camps cost $349 for the 5-day week (taxes not included). We have no hidden "special activity" fees!

Drop off and Pick up

  • When is drop off and pick up?

Drop off is between 8:30-9:00 AM. It is imperative you are not late for drop off as we leave promptly at 9:00! Pick up is between 1:00-1:15 PM. Parents of campers not picked up prior to 1:15PM are subject to an additional fee.
